Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 Ketrina Hazell

Along my reign as Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 I have had amazing opportunities come my way. My vision also expanded in many directions..with many surprises..and the first to do many things..  Here is an amazing surprise for all of you. I was able to create myself a 3D doll of myself in my wheelchair, crown and sash.  Throughout this journey I saw how important it is to show other girls and boys with disabilities they can become a princess or prince too  just like me So many times you go to the stores and never see anything like this because often characters play a pretending role in disability instead of finding an actually person with a disability to play that role How exciting this is for kids with disabilities to say they show an doll in a wheelchair with a crown and sash and she is actually Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 Having this will help me promote disability awareness Increase self esteem for young ones with disabilities as well as provide them confidence in being okay wi

Great talk and meeting with District 19 Superintendent in May 2018 and he agreed to have disability awareness month added to the school calendar in this year school calendar expected this upcoming April 2019 hopefully.

Becoming Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 as showed me my work is now more than just sharing my story of my life and what made me the advocate and leader that I am. Need a motivational speaker?
