Girl Empowerment Journey

Monday Motivation..

You have to be impacted by something
To make a difference a take a lead..

Growing up with a disability.. being a girl especially for many years I was very shy and didn't have a voice..

I had trouble accepting my disability as a teenager my disability kept my out of a lot of activities especially in school

Isolation has develop over time which also has an impact on my social and communication skills today..

I appreciate those who opens up their doors to get to know me as it's not always easy for me to open up

My confidence limited me from shinning in many areas

I doubt myself many times before I believe in myself.. At times I still face with these issues ..

I grow over my time in college
I gain confidence in my academics and so much more
I gain friendships
I gain acceptance. I was very involved on campus..

I gain a community that i never had until this day

I realize how powerful my wheels are after meeting all these amazing ladies on wheels during nationals in Michigan.. Completely the first time I have seen all girls on wheels together.

When I went to school. I was often the only one in wheelchair in my class or school i was even left out of trips etc

The opportunity of a sisterhood really changed my life forever and now I want to a role model for the youth and girls with and without disabilities

Today I am honor to be in a position to be a role model.. lead others and help them realize their worth

Today I am proud to join the girl scouts community to watch these girls grow and shine

Every girl need great leaders and a safe space to be.. I am building that space for myself and those around me..

Thank you girl scouts for the partnership on my platform to promote self advocacy and disability awareness within your troops and community.
