November 3. 2017- Includenyc College is Possible event keynote speaker December 6, 2017- Adapt Community Network Santa Project event supporting the pre-schoolers for the holiday season January 24. 2018- Spoke to  5th grade classes about the importance of inclusion, how they can be an ally to the disability community and the correct language they can use when speaking with or about some with a disability @ Abraham Jousha Heschel School Feburary 13, 2018- Visit the Brooklyn Center for Independence and spoke with the youth in transition group about my Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 platform March 27- Diversity town hall and featured on News 12 at this event share my platform and make sure people with disabilities was included in this conversation and to promote diversity and equality for all April 7. 2018 Judge for the New York Miss Amazing April 11. 2018 Panel Speaker @ the 4th Annual Diversity and inclusion form with Empire State College May 3.   Attended and featured in a speci...

Hello Everyone! It is great to have you all aboard has I carry out my Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 Platform to bring self advocacy into schools and create an inclusive environment within schools. Last week  I had the honor to speak at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School to over 75 general education 5th grade students about the life of a person with a disability, self advocacy and inclusive . Those students may have never seen or interacted with a person a disability before. Honestly it was my first appearance speaking to a population without disabilities The history beyond the idea of the school having me is that as part of their school they have a social justice curriculum because of the history  Abraham Joshua Heschel  carried on to make a difference.He was a civil rights leader is was good friends with Dr Martin Luther King Jr and was very passionate about social justice. Hi. My name is Ketrina. On October 28.2017 I was crowned.  I am the currently the MS Wheelchair NY 2018. It is truly an honor to be able to represent New York, people with disabilities and bring awareness to the disability community. My platform as Ms Wheelchair NY 2018 is to bring self advocacy into schools for students with disabilities and make schools more of an inclusive environment. I plan on visiting schools and organizations, groups of youth students to share my journey with them and exploring how the idea of bringing self advocacy into schools will be done, With my platform I plan to expanded to bigger, better and greater inclusive projects.
